Manchester United pulled off an incredible late comeback to beat Premier League champs Manchester City 2-1 at the Etihad Stadium. United’s frustration grew when Højlund’s penalty shout—after being taken down by Rúben Dias—was ignored.
But United’s persistence paid off in the thrilling final minutes. A terrible backpass from Matheus Nunes gave Amad the chance to pounce. Nunes fouled the United winger in the box, and this time Fernandes nailed the penalty, sending Ederson the wrong way to level the score.
As the Etihad crowd watched in stunned silence, United struck again in the dying seconds. Lisandro Martínez delivered a perfect ball over City’s defense, and Amad calmly took it around Ederson before slotting it home, sending the traveling United fans into a frenzy.
