Liverpool manager Arne Slot has been hit with a two-game touchline ban and a £70,000 fine after his red card in the wild 2-2 draw against Everton at Goodison Park on February 12th.
Slot was sent off for confronting referee Michael Oliver, upset about James Tarkowski’s last-minute equalizer — a goal Liverpool thought should’ve been disallowed for a push on Ibrahima Konaté. The match got pretty chaotic, with Everton fans storming the pitch in celebration, and Liverpool’s assistant coach Sipke Hulshoff also getting a red card.
Now, Slot will miss Liverpool’s next Premier League games against Newcastle at Anfield on Wednesday and Southampton on March 8th. But don’t worry, he’ll be back for the big Champions League clash with Paris Saint-Germain on March 5th.

Hulshoff is also facing a two-game suspension and a £7,000 fine. Both Liverpool and Everton were penalized for not keeping their players in check, with the Reds fined £65,000 and the Toffees £50,000.
Looking back, Slot admitted that “emotions got the better of me” as he vented about the amount of added time, which was only five minutes at first.
And the drama didn’t stop there! Everton’s Abdoulaye Doucouré and Liverpool’s Curtis Jones both got second yellow cards after the final whistle, each serving a one-match suspension.
Slot’s return to the dugout will be after the international break, when Liverpool faces Newcastle in the Carabao Cup final on March 16th — a great chance for the Reds to add to their trophy collection while they keep pushing at the top of the Premier League.
With an 11-point lead over Arsenal, Liverpool is now focused on bouncing back from this little hiccup and staying on track for the title, especially with another Merseyside Derby coming up at Anfield on April 2nd.
