After a solid 2-0 win over Paris Saint-Germain in the UEFA Champions League, Saka is feeling optimistic. The young talisman has backed his team to finally break their title drought. Arsenal has come so close in the last two seasons, finishing as runners-up and pushing Manchester City to the wire. But now, sitting third in the league, Saka thinks it’s time for Mikel Arteta’s squad to shine.
After the big European win, where he scored alongside Kai Havertz, Saka said, “I don’t want to put too much pressure on us, but I do think that this is the year [we can win the title].” He added, “We’ve been close the last two years, and we’re getting closer, but hopefully, this will be the year.”
At just 23, Saka has become one of the Premier League’s most influential players. He’s driven by past near-misses, saying, “Previous years, I’ve come runners-up a lot, and that just drives me more. I want to win this season, and I believe in myself.” He’s confident that the team’s spirit is stronger than ever, especially after their performance against PSG.
With Arteta at the helm, Arsenal is playing some of their best football in ages. With a strong start in the UCL and steady domestic form, the Gunners are back in the title race!
Next up, they face 19th-placed Southampton on Saturday. A win would keep the pressure on City and boost their quest for silverware!
