Marcus Rashford has reportedly stirred things up in Manchester United’s dressing room after saying he wants to leave the club.
The 27-year-old forward, who came up through United’s academy, has been left out of Ruben Amorim’s last two squads. Rashford’s honest statement came right after United’s big win over Manchester City, which had everyone feeling good at Old Trafford.
There’s been a lot of chatter about Rashford’s future, with rumors that the club might let him go as soon as January. But his hefty £350,000-a-week contract, which runs until 2028, could make any move tricky.
“For me, personally, I think I’m ready for a new challenge and the next steps,” Rashford said in a recent interview. “When I leave, it’s going to be ‘no hard feelings.’ You won’t hear any negative comments from me about Manchester United. That’s just who I am.”

While Rashford’s words showed his respect for the club, they reportedly made some of his teammates uneasy. According to The Sun, some players were frustrated by the timing of his statement, which took the spotlight off United’s big win over Pep Guardiola’s City side.
Despite the drama, manager Ruben Amorim has publicly supported Rashford, even though he’s left the England star out of recent matchday squads. The Portuguese coach stressed the need to get the best out of him.
“This club needs big talents, and Marcus is a big talent,” Amorim said. “He just needs to perform at the highest level. My focus is on helping Marcus. We’re a better team with him, and we’ll try different ways to bring him back to his best.”
Ahead of United’s upcoming match with Bournemouth, Amorim admitted he wished things had gone differently. “It’s a tough situation,” he said. “I’m emotional about it, but my priority is preparing the team for the match. We need to focus on the squad, not just one player.”
Rashford’s future is still up in the air, but interest is already brewing. Barcelona has been mentioned as a possible loan spot, while Saudi Arabian clubs Al-Ittihad, Al-Ahli, and Al-Qadsiah are reportedly interested, with Al-Ahli leading the pack.
As United gears up for Sunday’s Premier League game, everyone will be watching to see if Rashford makes the squad—a choice that could really impact his future at the club.
