Newcastle United took a big step toward Champions League football with a hard-fought 1-0 win over West Ham United, thanks to Bruno Guimarães’ second-half goal.

West Ham came into the game with two clean sheets in a row and looked eager to keep that going. They almost scored right away, but Tomáš Souček missed a close chance.
