Manchester United is about to get hit with a £75,000 fine after their thrilling FA Cup win at Arsenal, and both clubs might be in hot water after a heated penalty incident sparked a big confrontation.
This automatic fine comes after United racked up six yellow cards during the nail-biting match at the Emirates Stadium, where they played nearly an hour with 10 men after Diogo Dalot got sent off in the second half. The yellow cards for Lisandro Martinez, Bruno Fernandes, Kobbie Mainoo, Harry Maguire, and a coach pushed the team over the disciplinary limit.
This marks the third time United has crossed the six-card line this season. They were fined £25,000 after losing to Spurs and £50,000 after a draw with Chelsea. Now, their total fines have reached £150,000.
Things got heated midway through the second half when referee Andy Madley awarded Arsenal a penalty for a challenge on Kai Havertz. Harry Maguire was visibly upset, reportedly calling Havertz a “cheat.” The situation escalated into a scuffle with players crowding around the box, leading Madley to hand out several yellow cards without VAR help.
Despite the drama, United’s goalkeeper Altay Bayindir saved Martin Ødegaard’s penalty, prompting a cheeky post from the club’s social media that said: “Justice served.”

The FA is set to review Madley’s match report and video to see if they should charge both clubs for “failing to control players.” If they’re found guilty, Arsenal and United could face more fines.
United manager Ruben Amorim kept his focus on the game, brushing off the penalty incident and praising his players’ grit.
“The players told me it wasn’t a penalty, but let’s move on,” said Amorim. “We were more resilient, more aggressive. We showed a different spirit and a connection with the fans. Today was our day.”
Arsenal, who couldn’t take advantage of the penalty and the extra player, will also be under the microscope for their part in the chaos. Sporting director Edu Gaspar was seen having animated discussions post-match, clearly frustrated with the officiating.
