After a smashing 6-0 win over Ipswich Town last weekend, Manchester City’s momentum took a hit with a 4-2 Champions League loss to PSG midweek. They were up 2-0 early in the second half but stumbled again, marking their ninth loss this season after leading – the most in the Premier League.
Still, City has a mental edge going into this match, being unbeaten in their last ten games against Chelsea. Plus, the new signing Omar Marmoush from Eintracht Frankfurt could spice up their attack. But they need to shake off their post-European blues, having lost their last three Premier League games right after midweek European matches.
On the flip side, Chelsea has found their groove, snagging a much-needed 3-1 win against Wolverhampton Wanderers on Monday, boosting their top-four hopes. For the first time since the 2016-17 season, the Blues are above City in the Premier League table this late in the campaign.
