Liverpool Crush Spurs in Salah’s Epic Show!

Liverpool’s dazzling attack was on full display in North London, with Mohamed Salah reaching a Premier League milestone in style.
LIVERPOOL CRASH TOTTENHAM

Liverpool sent a loud message to their title rivals with a thrilling 6-3 win over Tottenham Hotspur in North London, keeping their four-point lead at the top of the Premier League. Mohamed Salah was the star again, helping with four goals as the Reds showed off their attacking skills. This win also added to their strong record against Spurs, marking their 16th victory in the last 24 league matches.

With these two teams set to meet in the EFL Cup semi-finals next year, this game gave a sneak peek of what’s to come. But for Liverpool, the goal is bigger—they’re aiming for the league title. Right from the start, the Reds took control, taking advantage of Tottenham’s mistakes. An early blunder from Fraser Forster—still shaken from a rough game against Manchester United—gave Salah a chance in the box, but he only hit the side netting.

That was just the start of the action. Liverpool kept attacking Forster’s goal, with Salah missing a few chances, even hitting the crossbar after another Tottenham slip-up. The first goal came midway through the first half, and it was classic Liverpool. Trent Alexander-Arnold delivered a perfect cross to Luis Díaz, who scored with a fantastic header.

As the first half was winding down, Liverpool doubled their lead. A cross from Andrew Robertson caused chaos in the Spurs defense, and Alexis Mac Allister took advantage to head it in. But his joy was short-lived. A moment of distraction let Dejan Kulusevski steal the ball, setting up James Maddison for a curling shot that gave Tottenham a glimmer of hope.

Liverpool quickly snuffed out any comeback dreams. Just before halftime, Salah made a clever pass to Dominik Szoboszlai, who finished it off to restore the two-goal lead. That assist made history, as Salah became the first player in Premier League history to hit double figures in both goals and assists before Christmas.

But the Egyptian King wasn’t finished. Early in the second half, he tapped in from close range after a cutback from Cody Gakpo, marking his 228th goal for Liverpool and getting closer to the club’s legends. Salah scored again on the hour mark, connecting with Szoboszlai’s pass to complete his brace and make it five for Liverpool.

Spurs didn’t give up easily, showing off Ange Postecoglou’s attacking style. A stunning volley from Kulusevski briefly closed the gap, but Tottenham’s defense faltered again. Dominic Solanke added Liverpool’s sixth after a clever nod-down from Brennan Johnson, while Díaz finished off the rout late in the game.

For Tottenham, this loss was their 10th in 12 matches against teams at the top of the Premier League—a clear sign of the gap to the top. Meanwhile, Liverpool’s relentless attack proved they’re serious title contenders, with Salah leading the way for more trophies.
