Mohamed Salah was once again Liverpool’s star, scoring both goals in a 2-0 win over Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium. His brace stretched the Reds’ unbeaten Premier League run to 19 matches and ended the Cherries’ impressive 11-game streak without a loss.
Bournemouth came into the match buzzing after scoring nine goals in their last two games and looked to challenge the league leaders early on. Antoine Semenyo nearly shocked Liverpool within the first 15 minutes, hitting the post with a powerful left-footed shot. Just when the Cherries seemed to be gaining momentum, disaster struck. A clumsy challenge from Lewis Cook on Cody Gakpo in the box left referee Darren England with no choice but to award a penalty. Salah stepped up and, with his usual coolness, drilled it into the bottom corner to put Liverpool ahead.
Bournemouth thought they had equalized just minutes later when David Brooks scored from a cut-back, but the goal was ruled out for offside in the buildup. That left Andoni Iraola’s men trailing at halftime, but they came out for the second half ready to take the game to Liverpool.

Alisson had to spring into action early in the second half, racing off his line to deny Semenyo, who was a constant threat to Liverpool’s defense. The Cherries’ pressure almost paid off when Marcus Tavernier unleashed a curling shot from outside the box, only to see it hit the post. The rebound fell perfectly for Justin Kluivert, but he couldn’t keep his shot down, sending it high over the crossbar from close range.
Bournemouth would come to regret those missed chances, as Salah sealed the win for Liverpool with a moment of magic. The Egyptian forward cut inside onto his left foot and unleashed an unstoppable strike into the far corner, leaving Bournemouth’s defense and goalkeeper Neto helpless. The goal secured another vital victory for Liverpool, extending their lead at the top of the table to nine points.
For Bournemouth, this defeat was their first in the league since November, but despite the setback, their strong performances in recent weeks keep them in the race for European football next season.
