Chelsea pulled off an incredible comeback from two goals down to beat Tottenham 4-3 in a thrilling London derby! Cole Palmer was the star of the show, scoring twice and leading his team to a third straight Premier League win over their fierce rivals.

Derby Day Drama

The match started off rough for Chelsea, with Marc Cucurella making some early mistakes that gave Tottenham a 2-0 lead in just 11 minutes. A slip from Cucurella let Brennan Johnson zoom down the wing and set up Dominic Solanke for the first goal. Just moments later, Cucurella stumbled again, allowing Dejan Kulusevski to fire a precise shot past Robert Sánchez.

Chelsea got a break in the 15th minute when Cristian Romero had to leave the game due to injury. Jadon Sancho quickly took advantage, cutting inside and unleashing a fantastic shot off the post to bring it to 2-1.

Both teams had their chances in a wild first half. Fraser Forster made some great saves against Cole Palmer and Pedro Neto, while Spurs came close with Son Heung-min and Pape Matar Sarr, who hit the crossbar. Chelsea pushed hard for an equalizer before halftime, but Tottenham held on to their lead.

Chelsea Fights Back

The second half saw a determined Chelsea take charge. Sancho and Cucurella teamed up to force another save from Forster, and Enzo Fernández just missed with a curling shot. Things got worse for Spurs when Johnson had to leave due to injury, and they hit a new low when Yves Bissouma gave away a penalty with a reckless challenge on Moisés Caicedo. Cole Palmer stepped up and coolly converted the penalty, leveling the score at 2-2 with 30 minutes left.

Chelsea kept the momentum going and took the lead with Fernández smashing home after Palmer’s deflected pass found him in the box. Spurs’ night went from bad to worse as Micky van de Ven joined their injury list, and Sarr gave away another penalty for fouling Palmer. The young star sealed the win with a cheeky Panenka, making it 4-2.

Son Heung-min managed to grab a late goal for Spurs, but it was too little, too late. Chelsea’s defense held strong to secure a memorable victory, leaving their London rivals reeling from back-to-back defeats.

What It Means

This win extends Chelsea’s unbeaten streak to eight matches across all competitions and pushes them up to second place in the Premier League table. Tottenham, on the other hand, has slipped nine places below Chelsea, with their early-season form feeling like a distant memory.

With Cole Palmer shining and Chelsea firing on all cylinders, the Blues are looking ready to make a serious title challenge this season. Spurs, however, need to regroup quickly if they want to turn their campaign around.
