Chelsea came out swinging, grabbing the lead in just four minutes. Jackson was quick on his feet, taking a fast free-kick, making a brilliant run, and sliding the ball past Alphonse Areola. He almost set up Cole Palmer for another goal, but the ball just rolled wide. Jackson then doubled the lead in the 18th minute, finishing coolly after a lovely through ball from Moisés Caicedo.
West Ham tried to fight back, but manager Julen Lopetegui was clearly frustrated. Jarrod Bowen had a wild shot that soared over the bar, and Marc Cucurella deflected Mohammed Kudus’ effort right into the hands of Chelsea keeper Robert Sánchez.
The Hammers’ woes continued with a denied penalty for Crysencio Summerville and an offside call on Kudus. Chelsea kept pushing, with Noni Madueke firing wide just before half-time, prompting Lopetegui to bring on Tomáš Souček. Just three minutes into the second half, Chelsea made it 3-0. Jackson was at it again, assisting Palmer, who found the net off the near post.
West Ham’s substitutions didn’t change much as Chelsea stayed in control, with Madueke testing Areola and João Félix hitting the side netting. Caicedo’s shot was deflected wide by Aaron Wan-Bissaka as Chelsea kept the pressure on.
West Ham struggled to find a breakthrough, with debutant Andy Irving and Michail Antonio failing to beat Sánchez. Areola made a great save to deny Christopher Nkunku’s header, but Chelsea sailed to victory with another clean sheet, keeping their perfect away record in the Premier League this season. Meanwhile, West Ham are still searching for their first home win in the league.
