Arsenal’s attacking magic was on full display as five different players scored in a thrilling 5-2 win over West Ham United at the London Stadium. A wild first half with seven goals set the stage for the Gunners to leap to second place in the Premier League.
West Ham came into the match riding a decent home streak but quickly found themselves on the back foot. Arsenal struck early when Gabriel Magalhães headed in Bukayo Saka’s corner just 10 minutes in. They doubled their lead soon after, thanks to some slick teamwork between Saka and Martin Ødegaard, which set up Leandro Trossard for an easy tap-in.
The Gunners kept the pressure on, with Ødegaard converting a penalty after Lucas Paquetá’s clumsy foul on Saka. Moments later, Max Kilman’s defensive blunder let Kai Havertz slide in Arsenal’s fourth goal, seemingly sealing the deal.
But West Ham wasn’t ready to give up. Carlos Soler’s perfect pass found an unexpected hero in Aaron Wan-Bissaka, who side-footed it past David Raya for his second goal of the week. Just when it seemed Arsenal had it all under control, Emerson Palmieri wowed everyone with a stunning free-kick that hit the crossbar and went in.
With the hosts suddenly back in the game, Arsenal needed to respond – and they did just before halftime. Łukasz Fabiański’s mistimed punch hit Gabriel, leading to another penalty. This time, Saka stepped up and coolly slotted it home, restoring Arsenal’s three-goal cushion and easing any nerves before the break.

The second half was a bit quieter, with Arsenal controlling the ball and limiting West Ham’s chances. Tomáš Souček’s diving header was easily saved by Raya, while substitute Danny Ings missed a golden chance to score, firing wide after rounding the Arsenal keeper.
For Arsenal, it was another big win following their midweek Champions League victory over Sporting CP. Mikel Arteta’s squad climbed to second in the Premier League, keeping their momentum in a tight title race.
West Ham, however, sits 14th in the table, six points clear of the relegation zone. Under-pressure boss Julen Lopetegui, watching from the stands, has a lot to figure out as the Hammers struggle for consistency.
